World Language Proficiency Assessment - Competency Credits for Punjabi

Get Competency Credits for Punjabi (World Language)
The World Language Credit Program is a way to earn high school credit for any bilingual student by demonstrating language proficiency. Students who demonstrate proficiency on nationally recognized proficiency assessments may be able to receive competency credits on their transcript.

How to prepare for the test

These are some of the example writing questions from ALTA and LinguaFolio for any world language assessment.

ALTA provides two types of Punjabi language proficiency tests:

Listening & Speaking Test - to assess a student’s Oral Proficiency.
- The test is conducted over the phone between an evaluator and student, where the evaluator will ask a variety of open-ended questions to prompt the student to use the language in a variety of ways. This test lasts approximately 15 – 25 minutes.
Writing Test - to assess a student’s ability to write in a given language.
- This is a paper test. Students must answer five questions (about 100 words per answer), and the test will take up to one hour to complete.
